2010 Update
"On July 8, 2010, the 219th General Assembly proposed a change to the Presbyterian Church (USA) Constitution that would remove barriers to the ordination of LGBT persons by a vote of 373-323-4. In May, 2011 a majority of the 173 presbyteries ratified the proposal , removing the celibacy requiredment that kept many gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people from becoming ministers.
