Our first day on the Equality Ride started off with a call to Sioux Center police department. A few community members wanted to be sure that our visit was not welcome and defaced our bus, writing various anti-gay messages and pictures. Luckily, our visit to Dordt was not a representation of this. We presented our ‘Loving Like Jesus’ presentation and had a panel discussion with many great questions asked and answered. Between these two events, Equality Riders had many wonderful conversations with students and faculty. Overall, it was a wonderful day and a wonderful way to start the Equality Ride.
