Concerning GLBT Equality:

Colorado Christian lists “practicing, defending or advocating a homosexual lifestyle” as “prohibited conduct” in its student handbook. This policy is unique because it would ban the enrollment of straight allies in addition to openly homosexual people. Yet perhaps even more interesting is Colorado Christian considers, “practicing, defending, or advocating a homosexual lifestyle” as a major violation that is to, “likely to result in suspension, dismissal, or expulsion on the first occurrence.”

When compared to the list of other major violations, it makes for an interesting juxtaposition:

1. Major violations likely to result in suspension, dismissal, or expulsion on the first
occurrence include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Selling or distributing any controlled substance or illegal drug (and items listed in Prohibited Conduct section, item 8a)
2. Intentionally causing physical harm to another person on campus or at university sponsored events or activities, unlawful detention of another person against their will or seriously threatening harm or harassment (and items listed in the Prohibited Conduct section, item 1)
3. Rape, sexual assault, or other non-consensual sexual activity, including sexual misconduct (and items listed in the Prohibited Conduct section, item 2 a&b)
4. Arson (and items listed in the Prohibited Conduct section, item 6c); Grand Theft (and items listed in the Prohibitive Conduct section, item 4)
5. Intentionally giving a false warning of a campus emergency (and items listed in the Prohibitive Conduct section, item 5b)
6. Use, discharge, or possession of any weapon, or dangerous chemical on campus or at university sponsored events or activities (and items listed in the Prohibitive Conduct section, item 7);
7. Intentionally interfering with university events or business activities, or educational purposes (and items listed in the Prohibited Conduct section, item 10a)
8. Failure or refusal to sign the CCU Lifestyle Covenant Agreement (Prohibited Conduct section, item 13e)
9. Knowing presence of any violation of policy represented in the area (listed in Prohibited Conduct section, item 12) or knowledge of students in violation of university policies
10. Homosexual relationships, advocacy, defending, or practicing such relationships (listed in Prohibitive Conduct section, item 3)

Amongst violations that are categorized as not being as egregious as “defending or practicing homosexuality” include:

2. Probation/suspension violations that are likely to result in a minimum sanction of
probation or suspension with additional conditions or alternative requirements on the
first occurrence include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Intentionally causing major damage to university owned or operated property (and items listed in the Prohibited Conduct section, item 6)
2. Possession or storage of a weapon on campus (and items listed in the Prohibited Conduct section, item 7)
3. Unauthorized entry into a university facility (and items listed in the Prohibited Conduct section, item 11a)
4. Intentionally harassing or threatening another person, including but not limited to, residence or security staff (and items listed in the Prohibited Conduct section, item 1)
5. Intentionally misusing fire or safety equipment. Automatically includes fines for misuse of fire extinguisher and false notification of emergency (and items listed in the Prohibited Conduct section, item 6d)
6. Discharging fireworks on campus (and items listed in the Prohibited Conduct section, item 7)
7. Intentionally furnishing false information to the university, including academic plagiarism or cheating (and items listed in the Prohibited Conduct section, item 5)
8. Petty Theft (and items listed in the Prohibitive Conduct section, item 4)
9. Forgery or unauthorized alteration of a university document (and items listed in the Prohibitive Conduct section, item 5)
10. Possession of stolen property (and items listed in the Prohibitive Conduct section, item 4)
11. Cohabitation, spending the night together, or sexual activity on university premises or on university operated property, or off-campus by CCU students with other persons connected, or not connected, to CCU (and items listed in the Prohibitive Conduct section, item 3, as well as the Guest policy)
12. Computer Crime or theft of service, including access to pornography and unauthorized use of another蔘ｻs password/account (and items listed in the Prohibitive Conduct section, item 4)
13. Possession or use of a controlled substance, illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia on- or off-campus or at university events or activities. Alcohol possession or consumption on-campus or at university sponsored events or activities. Knowing presence of either drug or alcohol use in a campus facility or operated property or at university sponsored events and activities. Underage drinking at any time on- or off-campus, or presence in an atmosphere where underage drinking is occurring regardless of age or use of alcohol. Public intoxication at any time either on-campus, during CCU related events, or within the off-campus community (and items listed in the Prohibitive Conduct section, items 8 and 9)
14. Knowing presence of any violation of policy represented in this area (listed in Prohibited Conduct section, item 12) or knowledge of students in violation of university policies
15. Engaging in disorderly conduct, lewd and/or obscene behavior, indecent exposure, or public intoxication (and items listed in Prohibited conduct section items 10)
